Activity of the Ministry of Justice in the sphere of International Legal Cooperation in 2017

The Ministry conducted a legal expertise of 206 drafts of international treaties and provided opinions (in 2016, 194).

There are 20 projects of debt and credit transactions under government guarantees that are considered and provided opinions.

October 20, 2017 in Tashkent, the fifth meeting of the Ministers of Justice of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. As a result, the participating States signed a joint statement on the approval of the regulations of the working groups of experts on forensic activity and implementation of legal activities.

In order to strengthen relations with international bodies and organizations, 51 meetings were organized. In particular, meetings of the Minister of Justice with the Ambassador of Germany to Uzbekistan G. Overfeld, British Ambassador to Uzbekistan K. Allan, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan E. Utembayev, Ambassador of the State of Israel in Uzbekistan E. Shapira, representatives of the National School of Government International of UK, and also with ministers of justice of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, India, China within the framework of the SCO.

Participation in 3 arbitration proceedings in the interests of the Republic of Uzbekistan was ensured. There are ongoing cases involving the Republic of Uzbekistan at the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes in Washington, DC and other arbitration institutions.

With the participation of the Ministry's staff, 151 visits to foreign countries have been organized.
