These days, the news spread on social networks that employees of the Andijan State Medical Institute are deducting money for their monthly work on cleaning days.

The case was investigated by the Andijan Regional Department of Justice.

During the study, it was found that the order of the rector of the Andijan State Medical Institute dated September 15, 2021 provides for the voluntary deduction of funds from the salaries of employees for cleaning days.

In accordance with Article 164 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, withholding of labor is allowed with the written consent of the employee, and in the absence of such consent, on the basis of a court decision.

However, according to the order of the rector of the institute, a total of 150 million soums out of 100-300 thousand soums for the monthly work of 743 employees for September were withheld in connection with the hashar in August, of which 221 employees were withheld without their consent.

As a result of the investigation, 150 million soums were fully returned to the staff of the institute, and officials of the institute were brought to disciplinary and administrative responsibility for violations.
