Ministry of Justice: about 2 million documents of state organizations were subjected to legal examination

On October 3 of this year, the Ministry of Justice held a press conference on the topic "1 year for legal service centers: numbers, achievements and future tasks" in the National Press Center of Uzbekistan.

At the press conference, it was noted that from October 1, 2021, legal service centers (Centers) will be established in all districts (cities) of the republic under the territorial justice departments.

During the past year, the following activities were carried out by Legal Service Centers:

1) about 2 million documents of state organizations were subjected to legal examination. As a result, cancellation of these documents by competent authorities, including courts, decreased by 99.3 percent

(21,588 documents were invalid in 2019–2021);

2) the practice of applying the same right is being formed in more than 21,000 units of state bodies in the region;

3) submission of applications has been started, 4.5 billion. soums of money in excess were recovered before the court without dispute;

4) working with documents was completely digitized through the "E-lawyer" system, and as a result, 2 mln. piece or 10 tons of paper worth 232 mln. soums was saved;

5) measures were taken to pay the unpaid funds of about 16 billion soums to personnel service workers in schools;

6) a system of exchange of experience between qualified and young lawyers was established, and an opportunity was created to solve complex legal problems in all areas in a collegial manner;

7) about 22,000 legal promotion events were held in order to increase the legal literacy of the population;

8) by ensuring the full independence of legal service employees, cases of involving them in work not related to their work activities were eliminated, monthly salaries were increased by 3 times;

9) A system for evaluating the efficiency of the centers was developed.

In order to further expand the scope of the Centers and ensure quality and professional legal services to state bodies and organizations, the Ministry of Justice is analyzing the activities of the departments of state bodies and organizations at the district (city) level where the Centers do not provide services. Based on the results of the analysis, an appropriate proposal will be developed to expand the scope of legal services.
